Mr. Kershaw

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) when he now proposes to make a statement about the Stroud inner ring road;

(2) whether he has now had an opportunity to consider the inquiry into the Stroud inner ring road which took place two years ago; and when he now expects to make an announcement about it.

We are giving the report of the inquiry urgent consideration and will make an announcement as soon as possible. As the hon. Gentleman knows, this is a particularly difficult case.
