§ Mr. MarksIn June 1976 the court authorities, with the concurrence of the dean of the faculty of advocates, asked the Property Services Agency of this Department to replace wash-hand basins and toilets in the advocates' gown room area in Parliament House. A scheme prepared by the Property Services Agency for the complete refurbishment of the toilet area was objected to by the faculty of advocates on the grounds that, whilst some of the fittings required replacing, other suggested alterations were neither necessary nor desirable. The scope of the work was accordingly reduced to replacing old and unhygienic fittings which the Property Services Agency could no longer maintain economically, and the cost is expected to be £3,300, subject to final measurement.
