§ Mr. Charles Irvingasked the Secretary of State for Energy what effect the costs of long-term storage of nuclear waste and the decommissioning of obsolete reactors will have on the price of nuclear electricity.
§ Mr. EadieOn present estimates, the effect is expected to be relatively small. I am informed that in 1977–78 the CEGB's provision for the cost of long-term storage of nuclear waste and decommissioning reactors at the end of their life was about 0.06p/KWh from nuclear stations.
