§ Mr. Onslowasked the Secretary of State for Transport what provisions there are for the compensation of householders and others adversely affected by the carriage by road of bulk materials for the construction of a project such as the A3 Burpham-Ladywood diversion (Guildford bypass); and if he will take the likelihood of such claims from residents and business interests in the Woking area into account when he considers any tenders for work in this project which involve use of the British Railways goods yard at Woking.
§ Mr. HoramGenerally, a householder has no right to compensation for any adverse effects caused by a change in the number or type of vehicles using an existing highway. It will not therefore be necessary to take the possibility of such claims into account.
