§ Mr. Hoyleasked the Secretary of State for Social Services, pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for Nelson and Colne on 8th May, what has been the result of his Department's discussions with the Association of Sea and Airport Health Authorities on the implications of the High Court judgment relating to imported food.
§ Mr. MoyleThere was no result in terms of formal action, but it 51W was accepted that, where the wording of declarations by foreign authorities did not specifically declare that suspect food was not fit for human consumption at the time of examination, public health authorities would need to continue to carry out their own examinations under the Imported Food Regulations.
