§ 17 Mr. Ernest G. Perryasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether he is satisfied with current levels of recruitment into the Royal Ulster Constabulary.
§ Mr. DunnYes. Although we still have some way to go before reaching authorised establishment, recruitment to the force during 1977 was the highest ever and as a result the strength rose by 439 officers. I know that every effort is being made to maintain this favourable trend.
