HC Deb 09 May 1978 vol 949 cc479-80W
Mr. Lawrence

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he has raised in the United Nations Commission for Human Rights the contents of the reports from the British Embassy in Vietnam on the infringements of human rights referred to in his Written Answer to the hon. Member for Burton of 2nd May.

Mr. Luard

No. We were able, at the Commission, to secure action on violation of human rights in Cambodia, and were deeply involved with other important subjects like Uganda, Chile and the proposed Convention on Torture. We thought it right to concentrate on these issues.
