§ Mr. MarksEmissions to the atmosphere from works registered under the Alkali, etc. Works Regulation Act 1906 are controlled by Her Majesty's Alkali 447W and Clean Air Inspectorate, which is part of the Health and Safety Executive. Other emissions to the atmosphere are the responsibility of local environmental health authorities under the Public Health Acts 1936, 1961 and 1969 and the Clean Air Acts 1956 and 1968.
