§ Mr. Lomasasked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will press for an improved system of control of textiles for the Mediterranean countries and, in the meantime, urge very strict observance of the limits set for 1978.
§ Mr. Meacher, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 26th April 1978; Vol. 948, c. 557], gave the following information:
The Commission envisages a special system of surveillance with Mediterranean suppliers in addition to the monitoring of imports. Where import levels of sensitive products from Mediterranean 135W suppliers are causing concern to the United Kingdom, details have been reported to the Commission.
