Mr. Buchanan-Smith

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many persons have been killed or injured, other than the driver or passenger of the motor cycle, as a result of an accident involving a motor cycle in Scotland in each of the past five years; and what are the comparable figures for accidents involving cars.

Mr. McElhone

The information is not readily available, but I am arranging for it to be obtained and I shall write to the hon. Member.
