§ Mr. Roperasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will make a statement about the European Community Finance Council that met on 20th March.
§ Mr. Healey,pursuant to the answer [Official Report, 22nd March 1978], gave the following information:
The Finance Council had a wide-ranging discussion of preparations for the economic aspects of the next meeting of the European Council to be held on 7th-8th April in Copenhagen, on the basis of a paper by the Commission. Ministers had a useful discussion of the possibilities for improving the economic prospects for the Community, which would also be the subject for series of international meetings in the period ahead.
The Council also had a discussion of the date of implementation of the VAT Sixth Directive (R/715/77).
