§ 21. Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will seek to amend the regulations on the Customs, Excise, and Exchange Control Acts to ensure that where the Customs and Excise officials have cause to make investigations into alleged evasion or breaking of such regulations they are able to claim a temporary restriction on a person whom they are investigating leaving the country 'without prior permission of the courts.
