Mr. Reid

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list those local authorities in Scotland which have benefited from EEC Regional Fund aid to infrastructure projects during 1977; if he will list the projects for which this aid was granted; and what share this represents of the total aid available to the United Kingdom.

The local authorities in Scotland responsible for projects approved for grant from the European Regional Development Fund during 1977 are listed below, together with details of the projects concerned. The total assistance for these projects represented 11.1 per cent. of the total aid available to the United Kingdom for infrastructure projects in 1977. If grants awarded to other public bodies in Scotland responsible for infrastructure are included the Scottish share becomes 23.4 per cent.
