HC Deb 13 March 1978 vol 946 c49W
Mr. Geraint Howells

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he has any plans to give further financial assistance to the Central Council for Agricultural and Horticultural Co-operation; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. John Silkin

The Central Council was set up under the Agriculture Act 1967 and is financed entirely from Exchequer funds. It is estimated that in 1977–78 the cost will be £903,000 and that £913,000—at October 1977 prices—will be needed in 1978–79.
