§ Mrs. Wiseasked the Secretary of State for Social Services, whether a person entitled to only a very small graduated pension and no normal retirement pension can elect to have the small graduated pension paid in an annual sum instead of a few pence per week or month.
§ Mr. DeakinsNo graduated pension of a few pence is paid weekly on its own. Details of the normal methods of payments of small amounts of graduated pension were given in my reply to the hon. Member for Louth (Mr. Brotherton) on 27th January.—[Vol. 942, c.812.] A person can elect to have his pension paid quarterly but there has been no demand for annual payments. It is proposed that from April 1979 all small amounts of graduated pension will be paid quarterly.
