HC Deb 02 March 1978 vol 945 c346W
Mr. McCusker

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will list the major talks with the grammar schools leading to good progress in the transition from grammar schools to which he referred in his speech, Official Report, 12th January 1978, c. 1839.

Mr. Carter

As my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State said in the House on 12th January 1978 there have been a number of major talks with education bodies during the past 18 months; these are too numerous to list. My right hon. Friend was making a separate point when he said that we are making good progress both in the transition to a non-selective system of secondary education and in abolishing the 11-plus examination.
