§ Mr. David Watkinsasked the Secretary of State for Employment what measures he is taking to promote the development of industrial training in the Northern Region.
§ Mr. GoldingThe Manpower Services Commission informs me that it is at present carrying out a review of the training needs of the Northern Region. This follows the publication of the Strategic Plan for the Region which made a number of recommendations about training provision. The Commission's aim is to develop the range of training provided so that it is linked more closely to the needs of industry in the region.
