§ Mr. Sillarsasked the Secretary of State for Energy if, in calculating base rate generation costs per unit of electricity from coal, oil, gas and nuclear fuel, his Department and the generating boards take into account the costs of spent nuclear fuel management, future decommissioning and perpetual care of nuclear installations.
§ Mr. EadieI am advised by the CEGB that provision for these costs is made in the cost of electricity. Power stations in Scotland are a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland.
