§ Mr. Fauldsasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, further to the Written Answer to the hon. Member for Warley, East, Official Report, 12th June, columns 305W 342–3, he will specify the separate individual amounts paid, or to be paid, from the National Land Fund to the Commissioners of Inland Revenue in respect of the acceptance in lieu of estate duty of each of three items (a) a painting by Turner, entitled "Thomson's Aeolian Harp", (b) a Haida oil bowl, and (c) a Brazilian wood carving.
§ Mr. Denzil DaviesThe individual amounts paid from the National Land Fund for these three items were:
- (a) a painting by Turner, entitled "Thomson's Aeolian Harp"—£168,500.
- (b) Haida oil bowl—£16,985.
- (c) Brazilian wood carving—£53,125.
