§ Mr. GoldingFollowing is the information for the Woolwich employment office area. The table gives the numbers registered as unemployed and notified vacancies remaining unfilled at selected dates in each month:
of deputy chairmen and members of the Committee have been increased to meet the demands placed upon it. There are at present 18 deputy chairmen and 63 members. Additional offices have been opened in Birmingham and Manchester and the secretariat has been strengthened. I understand that, despite the increasing number of cases referred to the Committee, some progress is now being made in reducing the waiting time. I will however continue to keep the situation under review.
