Mitchellasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether she will issue guidance to all local education authorities to ensure that the provisions of Sections 2(1) and 2(2) of the Health and Safety at Work, etc. Act 1974 are carried out in all schools and other educational establishments.
§ Mrs. Shirley WilliamsMy Department's Circular 11/74 drew the attention of local education authorities to the main provisions of the Act, including those of Section 2. The Department maintains close working relations with the Health and Safety Executive which is responsible for the enforcement of the provisions of the Act.
