§ Mr. OrmeThe Social Security Benefits Up-rating Order 1978, which was laid before Parliament in draft on 25th May, contains our proposals for increasing social security benefits in the week beginning 13th November, 1978. It includes increases in sickness benefit rates which will go up by £1.05—from £14..70 to £15.75—for a single person, and by £1.70—from £23.80 to £25.50—for a married couple.
