Mr. George

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many men and women were in full-time employment (a) in England and Wales, and (b) the Walsall area in February 1974 and June 1978.

Information concerning full-time employment is collected in the annual censuses of employment taken in June each year. The latest figures available are those for 1976. Local area figures are not available for 1974 due to difficulties which arose following the reorganisation of local government.
