asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will propose the raising of the limits of income set out in the White Paper of July 1971, Command Paper No. 4729, within which income tax debts may be remitted, in view of the fall in the value of money since the limits were set.

Mr. Joel Barnett

The income limits were raised in 1974 and 1977 and now stands at twice the figures set in 1971.
