Mr. David Hunt

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what representations he has received from the Cross—River Consortium; what investigations he is making into the financing of estuarial crossings; what action he is proposing to take; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Horam

The consortium has recently presented a case for Government assistance towards the finances of the tolled crossings. My right hon. Friend hopes to meet it shortly to discuss the matter.
