§ Mr. MaclennanMy right hon. Friend is not aware of any jobs in manufacturing industry lost as a consequence of the 601W actions of the Price Commission, despite what the opponents of the Government's counter-inflation policies would like to believe. On the contrary, the Commission's contribution to the substantial fall in the rate of inflation has benefited the economy generally and has assisted industry in maintaining employment and investment, while keeping down prices to the consumer.
