asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will make a statement about progress on the award of fifth round petroleum production licences.

Dr. Mahon,

pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 23rd November 1977; Vol. 939, cols. 767–8], gave the following further information:

I am now able to announce the following confirmation of award:
