§ Mr. Patrick Jenkinasked the Secretary of State for Social Services when he expects to publish the report of the Committee under Mrs. Peggy Jay which has been studying care in hospitals for the mentally handicapped.
§ Mr. EnnalsAs I said in my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Coventry, South-East (Mr. Wilson) on 13th June,—[Vol. 951, c.414]—I expect to receive the report of the committee of inquiry into mental handicap nursing and care later this year and hope to publish it as soon as possible thereafter. The Jay Committee's terms of reference encompass the nursing and care of mentally handicapped people in local authority homes and hostels as well as in mental handicap hospitals.
