HC Deb 13 July 1978 vol 953 c759W
Mr. Cartwright

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what activities are undertaken by Her Majesty's inspectors of schools in Jersey and Guernsey; and what charge is made for such services.

Mrs. Shirley Williams

A number of education establishments in Jersey and Guernsey are inspected each year at the request of the islands' education authorities. The full cost of these visits in respect of salaries national insurance, and travel and subsistence is recovered from the islands' authorities, and amounted to some£5,000 in the calendar year 1977.
