§ Lord James Douglas-Hamilton
asked the Secretary of State for Trade, in view of the dumping of chipboard from European countries in Scotland, if he will consider bringing in any measures to deal with this.
§ Mr. Meacher,
pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 10th July 1978; Vol. 953, c. 407], gave the following information:
The EEC Commission has obtained price undertakings on behalf of the United Kingdom against imports from Sweden and Spain. We are asking the Commission to examine urgently what further action can be taken against dumped imports from other sources, including Belgium, but anti-dumping action is no longer permitted within the EEC itself.
