asked the Prime Minister when he intends to appoint the members of the Royal Commission on Criminal Procedure.

I am glad to be able to tell the House that the Queen has been pleased to approve a recommendation that the following be appointed members of the Royal Commission on Criminal Procedure under the Chairmanship of Professor Sir Cyril Philips:

  • Professor Michael Banton, JP.
  • The right hon. Lord Justice Eveleigh, ERD.
  • Mr. W. A. B. Forbes, QC.
  • Mr. Paul Fox.
  • Mrs. Daphne Gask, OBE, JP.
  • Ms. Dianne Hayter, JP.
  • Mr. Jack Jones, CH, MBE.
  • Mr. Cecil Latham, OBE.
