Mr. Jim Callaghanasked the Secretary of State for Transport (1) how many accidents to riders of motor cycles occurred in 1977, as compared with the accident figures in 1976, in the Greater Manchester area;
(2) what percentage of car drivers, for the most recent years for which statistics are available, who were killed in motor accidents in the Greater Manchester area, had a blood alcohol level above the legal limit.
§ Mr. HoramStatistics of road accidents and casualties in local areas are a matter for the local authority concerned. I suggest that my hon. Friend gets in touch with the Greater Manchester County Council, which is the local highway authority.
