§ Mr. MacGregorasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is his estimate of the yield of income tax for each of the years 1973–74 to 1977–78 if he will give figures in parallel, showing what that yield would have been if it had risen with the retail price index from the first year onwards; and if he will give similar figures relating to the total proceeds of taxation.
