HC Deb 24 January 1978 vol 942 c577W
Mr. Wm. Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the responsibility of the Royal Ulster Constabulary in the provision of reports of accidents; to whom the reports are available; and if a fee is chargeable.

Mr. Dunn,

pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 23rd January 1978; Vol. 942, c. 460], gave the following information:

Provided criminal proceedings are not pending or in progress the Royal Ulster Constabulary will provide upon the request of the interested parties, such as the persons involved, their legal advisers, and insurance companies, reports and other information about accidents. A fee is normally charged for the items supplied and is based on the cost of providing this service, as in Great Britain.
