§ Mr. Adleyasked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will list all the trading arrangements between the United Kingdom and Malaysia, indicating where appropriate, advantages enjoyed by Malaysia, in the United Kingdom and in the European Economic Community by virtue of Commonwealth membership.
§ Mr. MeacherWe have arrangements covering air services and double taxation 329W with Malaysia but no bilateral trade agreement with them. Trade in textiles between the United Kingdom and Malaysia is regulated by the EEC/Malaysia agreement negotiated under the framework of the GATT Multi-Fibre Arrangements. Commonwealth membership confers no special benefits under any of these agreements.
