§ Mr. Wrigglesworthasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he is satisfied with the present powers available to the Government and local authorities for the supervision of child-minders who take care of children under school age.
§ Mr. MoyleI consider that the Nurseries and Child-minders Regulation Act 1948, under which local authorities have responsibility for registering childminders, provides in Section 7 sufficient powers for them to exercise such supervision of child-minders as they consider appropriate.
