§ Mr. Wattasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when he expects to be in a position to announce the outcome of the negotiations between the 235W EEC and Norway on the question of reciprocal fishing rights, in view of the vital importance of an amicable arrangement to both Norwegian and British fishermen.
§ Mr. BishopA further round of consultations to consider reciprocal arrangements for 1978 as a whole between the EEC and Norway will take place in Bergen on 24th–26th January. My right hon. Friend hopes to be able to announce the outcome shortly afterwards.
§ Mr. Wattasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement on the latest draft proposal from the EEC Commission which sets out a larger overall annual catch in EEC waters, but at the same time proposes to reduce the total tonnage allocated to the United Kingdom.
