The following New Earnings Survey results relate to full-time men and women whose pay for the survey reference pay period in April 1977 was not affected by absence. They are subject to sampling errors. Amounts are rounded to the nearest 10p.

I have had no reports that wages councils awards or enforcement of the minimum rates by the Wages Inspectorate have resulted in employees losing their jobs.
