§ Mr. MoyleIf a doctor knows that drug abuse is an immediate, secondary or contributory cause of death, this is covered by the requirement to certify the cause according to the best of his knowledge and belief. Deaths involving drug abuse include those due to drug dependence, and suicides and accidental deaths due to poisoning. These are separately identified for statistical purposes in "Mortality Statistics: Cause" Series DH2 and "Mortality Statistics: Accidents and Violence" Series DH4 respectively, published by the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys.
