Mr. Faulds

asked the Secretary of State for Trade whether he is aware that arrangements are being made by the Israeli Minister of Finance, Mr. Simha Ehrlich, with the South African Govern- ment to provide access to the EEC for South African goods which would be finished in Israel and therefore exportable to the EEC by reason of the trade advantages available to Israel; and what is his policy with regard to this.

Exports from Israel to the EEC receive the tariff preferences set out in the 1975 EEC/Israel trade agreement only if the origin requirements set out in that agreement are satisfied.
