§ Mr. John GrantStatutory requirements on pay and conditions apply only to workers in scope of wages councils and boards. Where a worker is affected by infirmity or physical incapacity, the Wages Councils Act provides for payment of an individually fixed rate below the standard minimum, on the authority of the appropriate wages council. Normal enforcement and prosecution policy applies.
§ Mr. Rookerasked the Secretary of State for Employment (1) how many of the 166 disabled people reported to have participated in the job introduction scheme by the end of December 1977, Official Report, 17th January 1978, have been 2W employment programme. I hope that all concerned—employers, trade unionists, local authorities, voluntary organisations and private individuals—will co-operate fully in coming forward with suitable proposals and projects.
As an assisted area, East Cheshire will also stand to benefit, in the longer term, from the regional incentives available to firms expanding or moving there.
