§ Mr. Kilroy-Silkasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will take steps to set up a job creation scheme for adults in Kirkby which would have the objective of providing 500 jobs involved in the renovation and repair of the housing stock.
§ Mr. GoldingNo. The renovation and repair of housing stock is the normal responsibility of the local authority or, in the case of privately owned property, the owner. Such work would not be eligible for funding under the job creation programme or the special temporary employment programme which starts on 1st April 1978.
