§ Mr. Hefferasked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many people are on the housing register in Liverpool; how many are likely to be housed in the near future; and what progress is being made to ensure that everyone in Liverpool who requires rehousing or a house of their own will be satisfied.
§ Mr. ArmstrongInformation about local authority waiting lists and the letting of houses to people on those lists is not collected centrally. These are matters for the individual local authority. In support of Liverpool City Council's efforts to meet housing needs we have made a capital allocation of nearly £35 million—provisional outturn prices—to Liverpool for 1978–79. That is a major increase on the allocation for the current year—£24.2 million at 1977–78 outturn prices.
