§ Sir John Gilmourasked the Secretary of State for Employment what estimate he has made of the total of redundancy payments which would be caused by the closure of Barry Staines factory in Newburgh.
§ Mr. GoldingThe information currently available to me is not sufficient for a reasonable estimate to be made. I understand, however, that the employer is of the opinion that total payments to employees under the Redundancy Payments Act 1965 could be of the order of £500,000.
