§ Mr. Staintonasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will withdraw the Health Service Ombudsman poster recently put out by the Central Office of Information and arrange for it to be reworded to accommodate the role of the community health councils as patients' friend and who, to date, have had no publicity from the Central Office of Information.
§ Mr. MoyleMy right hon. Friend has no power to revise publicity material prepared for the Health Service Commissioner, who holds an independent office under the Crown. I welcome any publicity for the work of community health councils but in general this is better achieved locally, although my Department is always ready to consider specific ways of helping with the facilities available to central Government. I understand that a working party of the Association of Community Health Councils for England and Wales is currently considering the question of national publicity for community health councils.
