§ Mr. Hooleyasked the Lord President of the Council if he will move to appoint a Select Committee to monitor and assess the performance of British firms which have operations in South Africa against the standards set by the EEC Code of Conduct for European firms in South Africa.
§ Mr. FootI have noted my hon. Friend's suggestion, but there are many other competing demands on the Select Committee resources of the House. Under the code there is already provision for an annual review of progress in implementing the code by the Governments of the Nine.
