Mr. Reid

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services in how many cases, for the latest and most convenient period of time, an applicant was or was not successful in a case heard by a supplementary benefit appeal tribunal when (a) he was neither present nor represented, (b) was present but not represented, (c) was not present but was represented and (d) was both present and represented; and how many appeals lead to a new decision in the claimant's favour without going to the tribunal.

wifery staff was 1: 3.56 and the ratio to medical, dental, nursing and midwifery staff the ratio was 1: 3.91. The figures used to derive these ratios were whole-time equivalents.
