§ Mr. Nicholas Wintertonasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what was the perinatal and neonatal mortality rate in the area covered by the Macclesfield health district of the Cheshire area health authority for the last 12 months for which figures are available; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Moyle:The latest available figures are for 1977, when the perinatal mortality rate was 23.4 per 1,000 total births and the neonatal rate was 15.4 per 1,000 live births.
§ Mrs. Haymanasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list for each year since 1948 the number of (a) legitimate, (b) illegitimate babies who were stillborn or died in the first week of life or died within the first year of life.
