asked the Minister for the Civil Service if he will bring forward proposals to abolish the right of Members of the House of Lords resident outside the United Kingdom to claim attendance allowance and expenses.

The Members of another place are entitled to recover the expenses they actually incur in attending their House up to a maximum of E,16 .50 per sitting day; they may also reclaim travelling expenses. The administration of the scheme is entirely a matter for another place, although I understand
