asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will make a statement on the Royal Commission on the Press.

Mr. Meacher:

Our views on certain of the recommendations addressed to the Government are set out in the White Papers on broadcasting (Cmnd. 7294) and on reform of section 2 of the Official Secrets Act 1911 (Cmnd. 7285). Other recommendations are under discussion and an announcement of our conclusions will be made in due course.
